I realized why I am so discombobulated at the moment. Besides being an introvert, I’m a highly sensitive person and all this chaos is overwhelming my brain. All the debris. The yard is full of fallen trees and sheet metal and shingles. Rugs drying everywhere. Insulation outside in a pile. Everything is strewn about the house, out of place due to drying. I’ve been purging things to occupy myself. It’s helping. Less stuff. Less chaos for my brain.

I need to find my calm. It’s a lot of destruction to process. Add to that, my face is hurting. I’m sure the stress is irritating the trigeminal nerve in my face along with all the smells of things beginning to mold and rot. I am still recovering from Covid and I don’t have the energy I once did.

I cleaned out my refrigerator today. It stopped cooling a couple of days ago and I had transferred the contents to another refrigerator we have. Hopefully, once the mess begins to settle down, we can call someone to check it out and fix it. If not, my frig will be the cleanest frig at the dump.

(I don’t normally do politics on my blog, but right now it’s part of the mess so it is what it is.) President dementia was touring Louisiana yesterday. He should have stayed in his basement. He’s caused enough chaos in the world and we don’t need him here in the middle of a crisis he doesn’t understand. If you stop to listen, all you hear are gas generators. It’s how we survive after hurricanes. We use generators that use either gas or natural gas to run. The generators keep our refrigerators and freezers full of food from ruining. They run fans that move the hot air around and yet we can find comfort in the breeze they provide.

The dimwits living in cities and other parts of the country understand their own stories but they truly don’t have a clue about rural America. Biden took the opportunity to say when we replace roofs, we need to “build back better.” What the hell does he know?! We don’t build our roofs to be easily destroyed. We have building codes that are strictly enforced for such calamities. All he wanted to talk about was his infrastructure bill and the reconciliation bill.

We don’t need his so-called federal government election takeover or any of the other democrat wishlist items or the bill that comes with it. We need refineries up and running to provide the fuel we depend on in our daily lives. We need to complete the pipeline so we can transport fuel. We don’t need huge wind turbines that need a breeze that we don’t have to generate energy. Does he know how many turbine blades are in landfills? We don’t Need solar panels due to cloudy skies after a storm that depend on power we don’t have to generate the solar power into usable power. We don’t need to give more money to China to buy solar panels.

What we need is fuel, jugs of drinking water, tarps, and food. In the aftermath of a hurricane, we spend days, weeks, and months cleaning up. We don’t need the government pretending they understand placating us and making sure minorities are being given extra attention. The last thing we need to be doing at a time like this is sowing division. Am I mad? Yes. As one sheriff stated on the news, I’m pissed. Our senators and governors know what we need, and they have common sense so the pretend president needs to go back and stay in Washington and stop trying to take away our fuel sources. I’m going back to work with the breeze of the fan, provided by generator power, at my back, because it’s hot folks.
