There is definitely a method to the madness…ask any planner.

This is my current planning setup. I’ve tried tons of planners and while they all work great (I can adapt to any planner) I always come back to my travelers’ notebooks. I love the flexibility of having more than one notebook 📓 so I can assign a task for each one and still have them all together.

I know a ton of planners prefer separate binders for each part of their life; daily, family, work, exercise, etc. While it sounds like a great idea, it’s too much chaos for an introverted mind like mine. I tend to gravitate towards what I call a streamlined system.

I have plastic inserts for stickers and pretty note paper in case I need to jot a little note to someone. I’m from the South and it just wouldn’t do to leave a note without my monogram on it! And you just never know when you will need a cute sticky note.

Next up is my bible journal 📔 notebook. I love the graph paper!

After that is my daily notebook. Nothing fancy. It is a simple graph book from May Designs (they all are) that I can decorate or not. It’s all about cute function and tracking.

The third notebook is my calendar book. While yearly calendar 🗓 books 📓are readily available, I’m an INTJ, a planner who loves to plan, so I opted to make my own and (should I reveal my secret?) I have my calendars 📆 prepped in this one book 📖 through January of 2022.

I also use several year-at-a-glance sheets that I purchased online a couple of years ago. The shading doesn’t match the current year, but it isn’t necessary for the tracking I do.

I use one to track medical appointments. I can check at a glance and see how many times I saw my doctors throughout the year (I have Leukemia and a couple of other health issues). I use a second to track the pain that occurs from Trigeminal Neuralgia, which is helpful for the doctor. And, I use a third to schedule book reviews.

I currently house my books in a TN folder from Planner Perfect. Her products are new to the market and she also sells beautiful hand-painted books. (This is not a sponsored post.) The TN is popular and available from a wide source of suppliers. This particular brand is an extremely well-made product and worth the cost.

I also have one from Chic Sparrow, another company known for quality products.

Planning products are widely available through online sources and sticks and bricks stores. If you have something specific you may be looking for, leave a comment and I’ll be glad to offer my opinion or source.

This is my planning system. Nice. Neat. And all in one place. Grab and go. I know there are a ton of people who have no need or the desire to plan out their days. My personality takes comfort in the security of a plan and “seeing the picture” of it on paper. Tangible. And if you are scratching your head trying to figure out the sticker decor, don’t. It’s my art, my doodling. Thank goodness for stickers because I would need lessons on doodling.

On Sunday afternoons I sit down and plan my week. It’s calming and it’s my creative time. And for some reason, having a cute sticker to remind me to do the laundry 🧺 makes the chore seem less like work.

Are you a planner? If so, what type of planning system do you favor?
