What is it about boxes that forever hold us captive?

As babies, we hide in them and play peek-a-boo. As toddlers, we toss the toy from the box aside and proceed to make forts. As four-year-olds, we pull a wagon load of boxes up and down the drive pretending to be UPS. As teens, we hide our most secret treasures inside.

As we reach adulthood, the box changes shape as it morphs into pretty baskets and fabric covered boxes or tool boxes. Our fascination with boxes lasts a lifetime, even to death as we tend to end our lives in boxes. Yes, that may be a bit morbid, but we also have a preference for our last box.
