I wish you could smell this! What is it about not being able to eat that makes me want to bake?! Could it be that food still soothes the soul even though you can’t consume it? I ended up being able to enjoy a few bites of this delicious pasta and shrimp dish despite the Trigeminal Neuralgia pain.
My own original shrimp and pasta dish. Definitely southern comfort food.
1. Heat the pan on high. Shrimp have a lot of water and you want it to evaporate, not boil the shrimp. While this is cooking, toss your salt, pepper, smoked paprika in. Put a pot of water to boil for your pasta.
2. When the shrimp begins to stick, deglaze that goodness with sweet vermouth- as much as you want.
3. When the deglazing is done and the alcohol has cooked out, toss in about half a stick of butter, more or less. Add some garlic-as much as you want. Your sauce will be a little creamy.
4. Add 3/4 cup heavy cream. Stir to mix and heat.
5. Toss in your cooked angel hair pasta. Add 1/2 teaspoon tarragon and toss. Sprinkle in 1/4-1/2 cup of grated Romano cheese. The cheese acts as a sticking agent.
6. Plate it and enjoy! A salad and garlic bread and you’ve got the perfect meal.
