The Marriage Pact and The Marriage Season – Linda Lael Miller – Reviews, Giveaway

9780373778928.inddThe women of Bliss County have a pact—to find husbands. The right husbands.

One already has: Hadleigh Stevens, who married rancher Tripp Galloway a few months ago. Now Melody Nolan thinks it’s her turn. Melody has recently found success as a jewelry designer, and her work is the focus of her life. She’s not exactly unhappy, but she wants more. She’s always been attracted to Spence Hogan, the local chief of police, but she’s convinced that Spence, a notorious charmer, isn’t what you’d call husband material.

Spence is a good cop who isn’t scared of anything—except love. And he’s done everything he can to preserve his reputation as a womanizer—a reputation that keeps marriage-minded women, including Melody, at bay. And yet…there’s something about Melody he can’t forget. Something his heart can’t ignore.

TheMarriageSeason_BookCover (1)Linda Lael Miller’s New York Times bestselling Brides of Bliss County series returns to Mustang Creek, Wyoming, to see if a marriage pact formed by three best friends—to not only find husbands, but find the right husbands—will be fulfilled in THE MARRIAGE SEASON (Harlequin HQN, June 2015, $7.99 U.S./ $9.99 CAN.).

Since Hadleigh, Melody and Bex—the best of best friends—entered into a marriage pact, two of them have found (and married) the men of their hearts. Bex has watched as Hadleigh and Melody have found love— true love—with the right men, and she doesn’t think she’ll be as fortunate as the others. Her own first love died years ago in a faraway war, and Bex has lost hope for a happy marriage of her own. So instead, she concentrates on her business, a thriving chain of fitness clubs. After all, if she can’t be successful in love, she can definitely be successful in work.

Then, single father Tate Calder comes to Mustang Creek with his two sons in tow. The boys befriend Bex’s eight-year-old nephew, meaning that she and the handsome, aloof newcomer are constantly thrown together. But is the marriage season over? Or can a man with doubts about love be the right husband for a woman who wants it all and won’t settle for anything less? Bex wonders if she may be the third bride of Bliss County after all…

My Review –

I am a huge fan of Linda Lael Miller and have been for over twenty years. I love her stories and her characters and every chance I get, I jump on the train to review her books. The trilogy, The Marriage Pact, The Marriage Charm, and The Marriage Season are part of a trilogy and the stories of three women, Hadleigh, Melody and Bex, who have been the best of friends since they began school.

The books, The Marriage Pact, The Marriage Charm, and The Marriage Season are part of a trilogy and the stories of three women, Hadleigh, Melody and Bex, who have been the best of friends since they began school.

The stories are full of love and laughter, and always contain a little intrigue. I enjoyed reading each of these stories, as where one left off, the next began. The stories are intriguing and fun to read. The trilogy would be a great start to your summer romance reading schedule. I highly recommend the books.

“Yeah, it’s true. Tripp heard them talking about it last night. Somehow boys think they’re whispering, but the truth is, they aren’t at all. They’re worse than deaf old ladies in church.

“We need some space.” He didn’t disagree. “I might go for a quick walk.” Bex laughed weakly. “It’s cold out.” “That might help.” “I’ll go put on my flannel pajamas.” He stood up. “Just button them all the way to the neck and be snoring when I get back. Some drool would be good too.” “I don’t…” “Well, start, if you have any regard for me at all.” Once he’d stalked outside, she had to stifle a burst of laughter. He didn’t even take his coat.
