You Make Me, Book 1 of the Blurred Lines Series by Erin McCarthy – Review

The guy she wants…

Growing up on the coast of Maine with a revolving door of foster siblings, Caitlyn Michaud spent one intense and passionate year falling in love with her foster brother, Heath. Then he left without a word.

Isn’t the guy she needs…

Determined to move on, in college Caitlyn has risen above her small town impoverished roots and has joined a sorority, reinvented her appearance, and landed the right boyfriend in frat president Ethan.

But the perfect world she tried so hard to attain is ripped apart when Heath appears one night out of nowhere. Out of the military, Heath is as brooding and intense as ever, and he is determined not only to win her back, but to exact revenge on everyone who kept him from her…

And when one love allows her to breathe, but the other feels as essential to her life as air, how does she choose between them?

My Review –

The story was well-written and flowed easily. There was a lot of drama in the book – pain, love, betrayal, spite, distrust – but a good read. The characters were likable and developed as the story continued. In my opinion, I think readers will enjoy the story and look forward to the second book in the series.

Any Day Now by Robyn Carr – Book Review

ANY DAY NOW ! on sale: April 18th, 2017

THE SECOND NOVEL IN THE SULLIVAN’S CROSSING SERIES

#1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Robyn Carr is back with ANY DAY

NOW, the latest installment in her new, wildly popular Sullivan’s Crossing series. Return to the idyllic mountains and tranquil retreats of small-town Colorado, where Sierra Jones has just arrived off a bus from Iowa, for this story of self-discovery and second chances.

After years of wandering, toxic relationships, and struggles with addiction, Sierra has decided to follow her brother, Cal, to Sullivan’s Crossing in search of a fresh start. While Cal is busy preparing for a baby with his new wife, Maggie, Sierra is ready to put down some roots of her own, which means finding steady work, focusing on her sobriety, and, most importantly, avoiding men and all the problems they cause.

Sierra’s vow of chastity proves difficult to honor, however, when she meets Conrad Boyle, a local firefighter and kindred spirit who is recovering from heartbreak of his own. With his good heart, steady nature, and abs of steel, Connie will test Sierra’s resolve and force her to reconsider whether all men are worthless after all, and for the first time, she may have found someone she can finally trust and rely on. Above all, Connie seems more than ready to accept Sierra’s past and offer her a future full of the safety and stability that she’s always craved.

But for Sierra, her troubled past is still too close for comfort. Because while she’s trying to resist Connie’s ever-enticing charms, Sierra is also on the run from a dangerous man who could threaten everything in her new life she’s trying to protect. As long as that man is still at large, turning over a new leaf may be harder than Sierra ever imagined.

PRAISE FOR ROBYN CARR

“Carr’s gift for writing lovably flawed heroes and heroines is evident on every page.”— Publishers Weekly

“A layered, well-paced plot and flawed, three-dimensional characters whom readers will care about make this a quick and entertaining read for those who relish contemporary family sagas with strong female characters.”— Library Journal on The Life She Wants

“Robyn Carr writes with heart and soul in her latest contemporary…. Readers will laugh and cry along with the four friends and sigh over the good men that come into their lives. A satisfying, sweet and sexy read.” — BookPage on A Summer in Sonoma

“Robyn Carr is a master of the small-town romance.” — New York Journal of Books

“Understanding what women do and say and want is something Carr has considered hard over her long career…. [She] taps into female emotions over and over in her books.”— The Miami Herald

My Review –

If you’ve read Robyn Carr’s books before, you know you are going to find drop-dead gorgeous, perfectly flawed, lovable characters. Any Day Now is no exception. Robyn’s books are well-written and contained well-thought-out characters, that as a reader, you just can’t help but fall in love with. I loved the Thunder Point series. I loved getting to know the characters and the town and felt that in each book, I was back for a visit with friends. I expect no less from this series and cannot wait to visit with this little town and it’s lovely residents again and again.

If you have not read any of Robyn Carr’s books, by all means, pick up this one. You’ll be hooked in no time!
