This post caught my eye this morning for a couple of reasons. I think it was on Good Morning America today how the average woman’s purse weighs over 10 pounds, but something like 7 pounds is more ideal for hauling around. The next reason I like this post is because it reminds me of an exercise one of my professors in college would do with composition students. As part of an observation exercise, she would empty the contents of her purse onto a table. Next, students had to write down what they saw and then draw inferences about her lifestyle from the objects. I never tried that one with students because my purse is dreadfully empty…
