Anything for You by Kristan Higgins – Review & Giveaway!

Before you get down on bended knee…

…you should be pretty darn sure the answer will be yes. For ten years, Connor O’Rourke has been waiting for Jessica Dunn to take their on-again, off-again relationship public, and he thinks the time has come. His restaurant is thriving, she’s got her dream job at Blue Heron Vineyard—it’s the perfect time to get married.

When he pops the question, however, her answer is a fond but firm no. If it ain’t broke, why fix it? Jess has her hands full with her younger brother, who’s now living with her full-time, and a great career after years of waitressing. What she and Connor have is perfect: friends with an excellent benefits package. Besides, with her difficult past (and reputation), she’s positive married life isn’t for her.

But this time, Connor says it’s all or nothing. If she doesn’t want to marry him, he’ll find someone who does. Easier said than done, given that he’s never loved anyone but her. And maybe Jessica isn’t quite as sure as she thinks…

The Blue Heron series has landed on the “Best Of” lists from Kirkus, Library Journal, and Amazon, and on NPR’s “Top Summer Reads.” In ANYTHING FOR YOU, Kristan writes about what it is to the “bad girl” from high school who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and is finally making a new life for herself. Connor O’Rourke has been in love with Jessica since he was 12 years-old and hasn’t missed the fact that he is pretty much the only guy in town she hasn’t slept with. Twenty years later, he’s determined to win her over and prove that she really can count on him even though everyone she doesn’t think she needs help from anyone.

My Review –

First off, I really liked the cover of the book. I thought it was a sweet depiction of the story to come. Anything for You is a sweet, albeit frustrating romance at times, romance.

The story contains a lot of chasing, not a lot of catching, and a whole lot of being on the wrong page. Love is there and has always been there, along with many obstacles to be overcome. The writing is good and I enjoyed the book, and I thought the ending was perfect.

Anything for You is the final book in the Blue Heron series. If you are looking for a delightful porch read this spring, Anything for You fits the bill quite nicely. I am giving the book 4 stars.

“In true Kristan Higgins fashion, ANYTHING FOR YOU is fresh, charming and laugh-out-loud funny.”
